Morning in Mong Kok

Breakfast of lotus leaf, rice, green beans and steamed roll.

Mong Kok shopping.

Isaiah said, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." He was treasure hunting in Mong Kok.

Off to Breakfast!

Isaiah woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6 a.m. ready for breakfast. See, that's why I packed a suitcase of food. He ate a snack and drank a bottle of water and then watched some Chinese cartoons. We all slept soundly from midnight to 6 a.m. and feel great! We are getting ready to go to breakfast now. Isaiah loves looking out our window at the apartment building with all the laundry hanging out. He is also excited about the bamboo scaffolding. More later.

28 hours later we are in our hotel!

Isaiah and I made it safely to Hong Kong. Isaiah did fantastic--everything went smoothly. We had to wait an extra long period for one of our bags in Hong Kong, but they took care of it and found it for us after we reported it missing. It was the suitcase of food, so we are thankful it's here! :) Isaiah managed his luggage and kept up like a grown up. He held his own against the physical crowds and just barged right on through, firmly, but not rudely. Each flight was late leaving, but arrived early at every location. At one point, we were going nearly 700 mph on our last flight. I thought they usually hung out at 500 mph or so. After landing in Hong Kong, we booked it to the train, jumped on, jumped off and ran to the escalator (ignored the announcement telling us to use the elevator) and nearly jogged to immigration. Got through quickly and made it to baggage and to Dax without incident. Then, we jumped on another train to Kowloon and got a taxi to our hotel. A perfect day or so of travel. Isaiah slept like 7 hours on our last flight and I managed to get about 2. So, I should probably head to bed soon. It's 10 p.m. here, I think. Will try to post pictures and share stories tomorrow. Need to get some rest!

One More Wake Up

Hopefully Dax will have easy/safe travels from Tapei to Hong Kong to meet us. We are so excited about leaving early tomorrow morning. Isaiah has reminded me to: 1) Hunch over. 2) Put lots of white powder on my face so I'm not so dark skinned. 3) Wear the red ornate dress that he picked out for me. He insists I need to fit in. Does he know how tall I am? I love that kid's mind! Can you guess what is in this carry on?

Packing Problems? Not Us!

Isaiah's Suitcase = 43.8 pounds   My Suitcase = 43.9 pounds
We managed to stay under the 44 pound limit for our one checked back each.
