London to Glasgow, Perfect Day

It is amazing what 6.5-7 hours of sleep (in one night) will do for you. We made it to Euston Station with time to eat breakfast. Well, really, there was no breakfast, so Isaiah had Burger King and Dax had Starbucks. It is entertaining to go to Starbucks with Dax. When they ask him his name he says "Handsome." He is asked to repeat it and he says it again. When asked his last name he says, "Stranger." So, they never believe him (I have no idea why) and this is what he gets. They just don't "get it"--

I love my two crazies more than anything. They are the best travelers!

A wonderful lady working for Virgin Trains let us pre-board (since we bring the whole house with us when we travel). She set us up nicely with a table and electrical outlets.
Oh, and tons of legroom and a spot for all our bags.

Just proving to A. Caspari that the boy really does read on occasion.

The trip to Glasgow was perfect. Arrived safe and sound.

Checked into hotel (less than a mile from Glasgow Central)
with no problem and took at cab to dinner.
These two NEVER stop!

Those boys and their virgin pina coladas or however you spell it.

Glasgow Central on our way back from dinner.

After dinner we went for a family swim. We had the place to ourselves and the water was warm.
Just a lovely family evening. We laughed so hard.
I'm wondering now if they really left out the alcohol. Virgin pina coladas?
 Hmmm....

Tomorrow is a travel day and an adventure, I'm sure.

Sunday/Monday June 18 and 19, Rematec and travel day

Not much happening the last couple of days worth sharing.
Sunday was a work day. We were at Rematec in Amsterdam all day.
We had the fun business stuff Saturday and the work part on Sunday.
It was well worth it and we had an enjoyable day together.
It was great for Isaiah to see Dax in action and learn more about the business.
Isaiah then treated Dax to some special chocolates, 2 cards, and a luggage strap to hold his camera bag onto his roller briefcase.
No real entertaining stories or pictures this time.
We were up before 4 a.m. today and left Amsterdam by 5 a.m. to drive to Paris. I'm glad we did, because we had about 1 hour and 45 minutes to spare before loading the Eurostar.
We went almost all day without food and learned once again that most restaurants (even McDonald's) don't open before noon--even on toll roads.
We had tons of traffic back to Charles de Galle and our cab driver had even more traffic from Charles de Galle to Gare du Nord.
Before we left Paris, there was another incident there.
We arrived at St. Pancras and caught a taxi to our hotel. Boy do we miss our rental.
Once getting settled in, Dax and I walked to 5 Guys. Isaiah was too tired and didn't feel like walking more. We brought his food back. Lots of sirens/police/etc down near Kings Crossing--no problems walking back. Who knows what was going on. Anyway, all safe and sound and exhausted.

Some business with a Polish company at Rematech.

This explains our entire day!

Probably the highlight of our day was getting a wonderful car wash. Ha!

 Finally knocked out on
the Eurostar.

We promise the blog from this week will have some more interesting content.
Tomorrow, we travel to Glasgow, but then the next day (whatever day that is), our adventure will begin!

Full Day in Amsterdam

We started our day with walk to the train station.
Strange that the train ticket machines don't take our credit cards, but they work at restaurants.
Also, the ticket machines don't take bills, only coins.
Quite inconvenient.

Took a couple lines to get to Amsterdam Central Station.

Sunbaked crowded walk, until we took the pot smoke-filled shady alley ways.
This shirt made us laugh as I started to get aggravated with the crowds.

Sampled (and purchased) some cheese. Yum!

Had to hit Starbucks for the air-conditioning, oh, and the cheesecake.

Some photos from the shady alley ways.

Bought some music from this sweet woman. Reminded me of Shivangi, my student from India.

Sitting and people/pigeon watching.

This little lady was darling.

 Fun at the dam.

Walking back to Amsterdam Central.

Had issues at the train station and had to grab a taxi to the RAI Center
in order to jump on our boat in time.

All kinds of goodies. Dax had marinated muscles,
some kind of beef wrapped around cheese (Isaiah tried that)
 and some other cheese thing.

A little place like this goes for $600,000 on the water.
You can't get licenses for them anymore, so if you have one,
you can pretty much sell it for what you want!

They stopped the boat a couple of times to pick up more alcohol.

And they stopped it once to pick up these delicious HOT snacks.
Isaiah ate these, too. They are a common dutch appetizer
and they are called bitterballen. Absolutely DELICIOUS.
It is basically some meat and mashed potatoes deep fried.
They serve them with mustard, but we ate them plain.

Our server with another snack. It was like cheese in a pastry. Dax ate some, but I didn't like this one.

Got off the boat and waited over an hour to eat.
Perfect weather. Interesting company.

We took a taxi back to our hotel to avoid the train issue (mechanical/technical issues with trains going  to Schiphol area). This guy talked non-stop and was as kind as they come.

We had such a wonderful day!
