Lovely Louvre

I think we got our steps in for the week. I'm sure there are more stairs in Montmartre than other areas.  Keep in mind, Russian soldiers occupied Montmartre during the Battle of Paris in 1814. They actually used the altitude of the hill for artillery bombardment of the city. Coach Ian Johnston, Isaiah (Sullivan) wanted you to know that he has yet to see a pool this summer (and he is quite disappointed about missing so much of summer swim team), but he is taking the stairs everywhere. And, we are living on the top floor.

We walked to the bank, through our neighborhood, and to Lamarck-Caulaincourt Metro and took the green line #12 to Concorde, then switched to the yellow line #1 to Louvre. We decided to have a quick lunch at McDonald's. They misunderstood Isaiah's double cheeseburger with only ketchup and gave him a bun, cheese, and ketchup. That was it. We didn't even have that happen in China.

Here are some of our many photos from Louvre.
Not the best quality, not complete, but just a sampling.

One big tub.

I took this only to illustrate the massiveness of things in this museum.
Isaiah is a big kid and he looks tiny compared to the door.

One painting is 10 METERS long and took 15 months to complete.

Not a good quality at all due to the light coming in; however, the ceilings were magnificent.

The Mona Lisa is only 30" x 21".

More ceilings.

And some floors.

I like this photo, too.

One of my favorites.

Our walk home was in the rain. It was beautiful.
I always overpack and had jackets, ponchos and umbrellas ready.
Can you guess what was in this paper bag? Dinner!

Chicken and potatoes from the street. It was just right around the corner from our apartment on the walk home. So worth it! Best chicken we have ever had.

Of course, after we ate, we had to go next door for a our daily grocery run.

Then, we got to see this.

 And these.

 And this handsome man!

I love our views!

These photos were taken at 10 p.m. our time.
