Rape of Nanking Memorial/Wailing Wall

The Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders. Over 300,000 slaughtered in a period of 6 weeks from December 1937 to January 1938. This was the most moving memorial I have ever had the privilege to visit. It is so moving. Words and pictures can not do it justice. We highly recommend watching the PBS Documentary about the Rape of Nanking and also reading the book by Iris Chang. I sure hope this is taught in our history classes.

This is one of the sculptures in Sculpture Square. There are 3 series of sculptures: A Ruined Family, The Refugees, and The Cry of the Wronged Souls.
This is The Cry of the Wronged Souls--It integrates two abstract sculptures. It is carved with "crying figures" in relief on two large angular stones, implying the wrongs, cries, struggles and protests of numerous souls.

Other part of The Cry of the Wronged Souls.

Goddess of Peace, white marble sculpture: Giving voice to people's anticipation for peace. It is 30 meters high in memory of over 300,000 victims slaughtered.
