Yes, I am awake for the time being...
This is the Place de la Concorde. It's the largest square in the French capital. King Louis XVI was executed here. The building in the back on the left (behind the trees) is the US Embassy. We were told we couldn't take a picture of it when we were right by it. This is the best we could do.
Taking a break on The Champs-Elysees.
The Arc de Triomphe de I'Etoile stands in the center of the Place Charles de Gaulle
at the western end of the Champs-Elysees.
The other side of the Arc de Triomphe--much better lighting.
While we were taking some photos, Isaiah was contemplating his wish for a new mattress. He seriously needs one at home, but this was good for him to see this perspective. The green cover on the right was soiled with poop. Also, while standing here, I watched a man roll a fake gold ring right near Dax. Then the guy walked by, picked it up, showed him, and told him it is his lucky day. Dax tried to give it back to him (since we knew what was up) and he wouldn't take it. A few minutes later he wandered back and asked Dax for some money. Dax handed him the ring back and said, "Go sell your ring and get some money." We then wandered across the street and another man did the same thing. Also, while sitting on a bench there, we saw a car wreck. Exciting events as we simply wander around.
Taking another break to play with the pigeons.
THE EIFFEL TOWER
I think we took this one from the Place du Trocadero.
Standing in line at the Eiffel Tower.
Notice the shadow of the Eiffel Tower
Another view from the Eiffel Tower
Still looking down.
Our first picture of the Eiffel tower was taken from near the middle of this photo.
You can see the Arc de Triomphe just above Isaiah's head.
Walking back to where we took our first picture of the Eiffel Tower.
As we walked back through the Place du Trocadero, Dax's spontaneity kicked in. He decided he would entertain the big crowd with his personality. While the Reggae band was playing, he did a jig back to the Metro. He was the only one in that area at the time and everyone was watching and cheering (and laughing) as they enjoyed his magnificent swaggering dance moves. It can now be said that Dax has played Paris.
Several miles of walking later, heading back to our apartment, Isaiah is "out" again. We arrived "home" after midnight last night. Then, we had dinner and hit the hay around 1:30 a.m. Whew! We have not been good time managers. Actually, we have been perfect time managers--there is no time keeping allowed in Paris. So there! :)
Hi Becky!

Shari, I'm using my iphone and also my little GE 12.1 megapixel E1235. I just point and shoot and don't use any features or anything. Love you!
