We slept in and barely made it to breakfast at 11:00 a.m. We had to wake Isaiah up--he was really sawing logs after the long day yesterday. After breakfast, we spent a couple of hours getting our room situation worked out. We spoke with Head of Maintenance. He explained that our room (424) and that whole floor was being gutted next week. The other floors have been remodeled/updated, but not the 4th floor. Ya think? When we showed him the picture of the floor under that carpet, he said, "Holy Hell!" They totally catered to our needs and we are now in an executive room on the first floor...but not without incident. We first moved to 174. Then, the maintenance guy told us to move to 127 because the AC was not to up to his standards. Well heck, we were happy with it because it was like 20 degrees cooler than our room last night. Anyway, they had a guy come up and move all of our stuff for us to 127. Whew, now to repack for the 3rd time in 24 hours. We also learned that guest laundry is not available for our use. Well shoot. We should have arrived at 3 in the afternoon yesterday--the plan was to do laundry upon arrival so we can have the stuff hanging up to dry in time to pack up for Dubai. Instead, we got settled in at midnight only to learn this morning that laundry is not even an option. Oh well, the day is already better than yesterday. We have a wonderful room!
We walked to the bus stop this afternoon. It was about a 30 minute ride to Uxbridge. It was not stressful at all. I imagine because we weren't on a time schedule and we didn't have all our luggage. Two reasons to be thankful. :)
Across from our bus stop.
Isaiah notices that the double decker bus is just like the ones in China. The only differences--England has red ones and they aren't as crowded.
Just like home--saggin'.
On our bus, passing another bus.
From the bus.
On the bus--boy they look tired.
Messing around in Uxbridge.
We were going to see a movie, until we learned the expense.
More messing around in Uxbridge.
Any guesses where this is?
This hint makes it obvious!
Now do you know where we are?
You have to know where we are now!
Yes, you are correct! Five Guys! Well actually, it is "Twelve Guys" (or 10 guys and 2 girls).
They just opened up this Five Guys and apparently it takes 12 not 5. No complaints here! Our burgers were DELICIOUS. Just like home!
Waiting for our bus back to our hotel.
On our way back.
We successfully had a rest day. The only hiccup was--no laundry. It's okay. We fly to Dubai tomorrow. There, we have a washer in our 2 bedroom suite.
