We started our day with walk to the train station.
Strange that the train ticket machines don't take our credit cards, but they work at restaurants.
Also, the ticket machines don't take bills, only coins.
Quite inconvenient.
Took a couple lines to get to Amsterdam Central Station.
Sunbaked crowded walk, until we took the pot smoke-filled shady alley ways.
This shirt made us laugh as I started to get aggravated with the crowds.
Sampled (and purchased) some cheese. Yum!
Had to hit Starbucks for the air-conditioning, oh, and the cheesecake.
Some photos from the shady alley ways.
Bought some music from this sweet woman. Reminded me of Shivangi, my student from India.
Sitting and people/pigeon watching.
This little lady was darling.
Fun at the dam.
Walking back to Amsterdam Central.
Had issues at the train station and had to grab a taxi to the RAI Center
in order to jump on our boat in time.
All kinds of goodies. Dax had marinated muscles,
some kind of beef wrapped around cheese (Isaiah tried that)
and some other cheese thing.
A little place like this goes for $600,000 on the water.
You can't get licenses for them anymore, so if you have one,
you can pretty much sell it for what you want!
They stopped the boat a couple of times to pick up more alcohol.
And they stopped it once to pick up these delicious HOT snacks.
Isaiah ate these, too. They are a common dutch appetizer
and they are called bitterballen. Absolutely DELICIOUS.
It is basically some meat and mashed potatoes deep fried.
They serve them with mustard, but we ate them plain.
Our server with another snack. It was like cheese in a pastry. Dax ate some, but I didn't like this one.
Got off the boat and waited over an hour to eat.
Perfect weather. Interesting company.
We took a taxi back to our hotel to avoid the train issue (mechanical/technical issues with trains going to Schiphol area). This guy talked non-stop and was as kind as they come.
We had such a wonderful day!
