Drive from Saint-Junien, France to Malmedy, Belgium
We were surprised at all the truck traffic we saw today.
We sure didn't miss the 2 hours of traffic in Paris!
That was a nightmare.
We had smooth sailing today!
There is no food between Saint-Junien and Malmedy.
We stopped at one of the gas station/pull off places.
They had tons of choices. Belgium was good to us.
This is the first day in a while we didn't have to eat ham and butter sandwiches. Whew!
Dad, of course we didn't choose this,
but we thought of you when we saw the veggies and bread option.
There was also "home cooking"--no thank you.
And the "salad" option--we'll pass again.
We did, however, land the Pizza Hut choice. Pizza and wings!
Unlike France, Belgium actually uses enough sauce and cheese.
Dax is always amused that you have to pay to pee in a public place, especially if you are a customer.
Heck, if I have to go, I pay. Never know where the next stop will be.
We found our sweet 2 bedroom apartment after 741 roundabouts.
Well, not really, but a whole bunch of them.
And guess what, we actually are on a roundabout.
We don't mind them so much, as long as we are not in the UK.
Living area and dining/kitchen area.
Photos do not do it justice. Tons of windows to the ceiling.
Our room and Isaiah's room--with a door in between. Each room has a TV. This is our room.
Isaiah's room.
Isaiah is excited about the smart lighting.
You walk in the hall and the light goes on.
You leave, and it turns off.
This way he doesn't get in trouble for leaving the light on.
And he is impressed with the "foggy" glass door to the bathroom.
This is our view out of of the front room/dining area.
We also have a picnic table and patio off of our bedroom.
So, we haven't done laundry since Paris.
The nearest coin laundry was 25 minutes away in Theux, Belgium.
Cleanest place ever. We were the only ones there.
It was really small and tidy.
Isaiah and Dax's entertainment while waiting on laundry.
We ate at QUICK on our way home.
Got there right before they closed.
No grocery stores are open at 10 p.m.,
so we'll see how hungry we get tonight and in the morning.
I'm sure we have left off many details with these last couple of entries.
Gosh, I hope I have included, at the very least, the places we have been.
We had such a beautiful drive today--wish I could have taken some photos.
