Best 14 Hours EVER, Fishing in Phuket!

This morning we got up at 5:30 in preparation for our Phuket Fishing Trip. Yep, we laugh, too, when we read "Phuket"--pronounced poo ket. We sat down to eat tonight at 7:30. Yet another wonderful day!

I don't have a photo of what greeted me this morning as I opened the cabinet to get the box of cereal, but Dax said that I screeched. The only proof I have is the place where I bit my tongue as I was startled. Just a lizard. The #1 cause of death here is a coconut falling on your head. I'm thinking #2 might be death by heart attack after unexpectedly seeing a lizard.

Isaiah's vacation breakfast--croissant and chocolate and milk.

And, we are off. Finally fishing in Phuket!

Isaiah started us off by landing some tuna and a dolphin fish.
The tuna look like metal. They flop all over the place.
I swear they look sharp as a knife.

Dax caught two tuna at once!
The 1st mate below and to the right is holding one of Isaiah's tuna.
I'm not sure you can see how metallic it appears or not in this photo.

So, we didn't realize that Isaiah would be fishing to feed us today.
They prepared Isaiah's dolphin fish and some tuna for lunch!

I was wondering when we were going to get lunch. Guess we had to catch enough first!
We had rice, fish, cucumbers, fish head soup, fried chicken,
and fresh pineapple and watermelon.
We ate on the top deck.

We swam and snorkeled while they prepared our lunch.

After lunch, we did some bottom fishing with hand lines.
That kind of sucked because it was in the direct sun,
in very rough waters with huge swells.
Isaiah finally just sat down.
The boat was tipping so much that we couldn't stand up.

This time Isaiah caught two fish at once--more difficult.

And, we are on our way back.

Proof of a worthwhile day!

I forgot to mention that 5 people on the boat were sea sick.
We alway take medicine and wear sea bands on our wrists.
We have NEVER been sick on a boat.
Thank goodness!
We've been in waters all over the world, but we have not ever been in any this rough.
What a thrill!
I will, however,  admit that we all still feel like we on the boat.
Wheeeee!
