We had a lovely ride to the airport (June 1) from Mom and Dad. Timely and comfortable service! Now that is a taxi you can count on. Despite our reservations of giving United Airlines ONE more chance, it was a successful travel day. Nothing but excellent customer service from Jerome (United representative). Even the TSA left us alone. I still don't know how Isaiah gets that preferred, fast-track security pass and I don't.
Kansas City's airport wifi has improved some, but they still lack on restaurant options. Even though there was no "fast" breakfast choice, we enjoyed the bbq pork sliders, slaw, sausage, eggs, potatoes and toast from the "Just Off Vine--Bar and Grill" in Terminal C.
Had a perfect flight to Chicago and even landed early. We made way to the restroom, McDonald's and to our gate for the flight to Hong Kong with 45 minutes to spare. Did you know that a quarter pounder with cheese meal at O'Hare is cheaper than in Kansas City? Go figure.
Boarding our Hong Kong flight was organized and easy. We were thinking, "This has to be Emirates, not United." We were the first passengers in Group 3 of 5.
Our seats were right behind first class and we had extra leg room.
The Chinese man sitting next to us was small (always makes it seem like we have more room),
had good teeth and no bad breath.
His quiet and friendly nature was well-received
and we were so grateful that we could easily get in and out to walk around often.
We managed to sleep a total of 2 hours of the 16 hour flight.
Happy to be landing in Hong Kong. We made it through the health check, fever screens, immigration, baggage, duty free lane and to our hotel in less than 25 minutes.
I'm certain that is a new world record of some kind.
Our hotel is connected to the airport, so no public transport this time for us! Eat, shower, sleep. Hotel food worked just fine after being up over 24 hours.
Our room was cool, clean and comfortable. Three C's sometimes difficult to find!
We slept from about 9 pm until 4:45 in the morning.
We had to wait for the sun to come up, but here is the view from our hotel.
Packing up now and we'll head over to the airport to fly to Japan.
So excited to see our cousins!
